Patapsco Valley State Park, McKeldin Area. The standard USOF embargo is in place, meaning that all areas of Patapsco Valley State Park in the McKeldin/Marriottsville region are off limits to anyone who wishes to compete in this event.

This area in general is near Marriottsville, MD and Granite, MD, about 20 miles West of Baltimore, MD.

Saturday races take place largely on the Bon Secours Spiritual Center. They have graciously allowed us to use their property.

From Baltimore Washington International Airport.

1. Take I-195 west from the airport.
2. Follow signs to get onto I-195 West
3. Go 4.2 miles to I-95 North
4. Go 2.2 miles. Merge onto I-695 N/Baltimore Beltway Inner Loop via exit 49B on the left toward I-70/I-83 Towson.
5. Go 5.3 miles on I-695
6. Take Exit 16 onto I-70 West towards Frederick.
7. Go 8.9 miles to exit 83, Marriottsville Road. (there is only one exit)
8. At the top of the exit ramp keep right onto Marriottsville Road North.
9. Follow signs to appropriate event.

Friday:

Continue down Marriottsville Road several miles. Cross the rail road tracks, go up the hill and turn right into the park. There is a $3 per car entrance fee ($2 for Maryland cars). Turn right past the fee station and follow road back into the park.

Multiple parking areas are located near the start/finish. 400m to furthest parking.

Saturday

Follow Marriottsville Rd approximately 1.7 miles. Bear right onto Driver Road (Do NOT make the sharper turn onto the Bon Secours Road). Turn right onto the access road and follow this back to the parking area. The speed limit on this residential road is 20 mph, and the family (with kids) living on this road would definitely like all A-meet participants to drive carefully around here. The parking area is a large field. There is no shade available in this area and the forest is out of bounds.

Start, Finish and Parking areas for all Saturday daytime events are co-located on Bon Secours Spiritual Center. This will also be the location of the USA O-Cafe (lunch) fundraiser; for details see 'Local Info'. Walk to start: 300 m.

The USOF Board of Directors meeting and the Course Review & Meet'n'Greet social event will both be held at the Howard County Conservancy, located at 10520 Old Frederick Road, Woodstock MD (photo at bottom of page). This beautiful facility is located in between the competition sites (~10 min. drive away) and the event hotels (~15 minutes).From the intersection of Old Frederick Road (aka MD Route 99) and Marriottsville Rd, which is N of I-70 and S of the event site, go east on Old Frederick Road just 1.3 miles and then turn left onto the Howard County Conservancy gravel driveway and follow the road to the parking area. [No spiked shoes please.]

Sunday

Parking will be very tight Sunday. Carpool is highly encouraged. Check back for more details on this.

Follow Marriottsville Road to 2nd stop light. Turn right onto Old Frederick Road (Rt 99). Go approximately 0.6 miles and turn left at the stop light onto Woodstock Road. Woodstock Road will turn into Old Court Road after crossing the river. 2.3 miles from Rt 99 turn left onto Hernwood Rd. 0.2 miles to parking.
